The Mountain & Waterfall Tour– Full Day Tour

Fuel your instincts and bury your fears as you experience a new landscape by exploring the routes of Mount Afaja, the highest mountain in Ghana. The top reaches 885 meters and forms part of the Agumatsa range near the villages of LiatiWote and Gbledi in the Volta Region of Ghana, which runs along the Ghana-Togo border.

Continue to the village of Wli as you hike through the forest of Agumatsa Wildlife Sanctuary on a footpath crossing 9 streams to the waterfalls. The forest inhabits a large colony of fruit bats, butterflies, birds, monkeys and baboons.

Ada Estuary (Full Day)

Enjoy a scenic drive from Accra to Ada on the eastern fringes of the Greater Accra Region. Visit the village of Azizanya on the estuary of the Volta River. The elders of the village will take you through their fishing culture and explain how they are able to navigate the estuary which is known to have a strong undercurrent. Visit the local gin (Akpeteshie) brewery on one of the islands to learn about how this locally produced alcoholic beverage is brewed. Spend the remainder of the day engaged in water sporting activities.

Accra City Tour (Half Day)

Today, you will discover Ghana’s capital city Accra with a drive through a blend of medieval and modern buildings. A visit to James and Ussher towns will walk you through the path of the British and their settlement in 1877. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the third and final burial grounds of the first President of Ghana. Next door is the art and craft where you can use your bargaining skills to shop for from carvings, baskets, drums, bags, beads, fabrics, sandals, sculptures, stools and so forth.

Experience Ghana’s independence journey as you drive through the 28th February Road to the Black Star Square. Visit the Christiansborg Castle built by Denmark-Norway in 1660 to listen to the political history of Ghana and the stories of Asamani, the brave warrior from Akwamu and how he captured the castle from the Danes.

You will also visit the Artists Alliance Gallery in La (Labadi). It is an admirable artistic space that exhibits Traditional and Contemporary African Art from artiste across Ghana. The gallery was created by Ablade Glover an indigene of La, grandfather of contemporary Ghanaian Art.

Eco Historic Tour (Full Day)

Early morning departure from Accra to the Central Region of Ghana. You will visit the Kakum National Park with a stopover in the village of Abrafo to visit the stingless bees factory. The centre develops honey- based medicines and baby colonies for sale, and educate the youth on the importance of stingless bees to growth and wealth creation. Continue to the Kakum National Park. The attraction is the canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m hanging 40m above the forest floor, offering you what is truly a bird’s eye view of the rain forest. There are some mammals but do not expect to see them as they are known to be extremely elusive.

Proceed to Elmina visit this historic town. You will tour the Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Monument built by the Portuguese in 1482. The castle was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, making it the oldest European building in existence below the Sahara. Listen to the stories of the infamous slave trade.

Return to Accra.

The sweet history of Cocoa

Enjoy an education tour to Tafo in the Eastern Region of Ghana to learn about Ghana’s Cocoa. Drive through the scenic and quaint villages of Akuapem with a brief stop-over at Aburi Botanical Gardens established in 1890. At Tafo, you will visit the Cocoa Research Institute and learn about the processing of cocoa from planting through harvesting to production of chocolates and other cocoa products. Heritage Tour (Full Day)

 You will drive the Ga Village of Sesemi near Abokobi to visit Frederiksgave Slave Plantation. The plantation served as a typical colonial plantation, which experimented with various crops like coffee, sugar, tobacco and wine, but with poor outcome. It was later on turned into a health resort for ill Danish public servants from Christiansborg Castle.

Continue with a visit to the Du Bois Centre for Pan African Culture. The centre is a complex of four major buildings which include the home of Dr. DuBois, an administrative building, the Marcus Garvey guest house and the tomb of Dr. DuBois and his wife Shirley Graham Dubois.
